If you weren’t specifically looking for it, you could almost miss this Italian eatery at the Mirage. But Portofino is not to be missed, in fact it is a culinary gem. Thanks to some fun twists and turns by the hand of Chef Michael LaPlaca, this classic, familiar food is simply exceptional. The flavorful elevation of a simple favorite like meatballs is transformed by having the meatballs slathered in deep red tomato sauce and topped with a goat cheese-filled, lightly fried squash blossom. This is just one example of the creativity within the menu.
With a white Italian marble bar, exposed brick and yellow Murano glass chandeliers, the bar area is airy, bright and comfortable. Past the bar is the main dining room, a deceivingly large area with natural wood elements and modern design. While décor and friendly staff are always helpful, the food is what sets Portofino apart!
